Alicia Meza was born in Barquisimeto City in Venezuela. She studied at the Central University of Venezuela as well as in Geneva, Switzerland, where she was a student of Monika Kamiska at the “Atelier de Sculpture et de dessin”, and where she presented the thesis called “L´oeuvre de Picasso” at the “Ecole Supérieure d´art visual”. After some others studies and presentations in Caracas-Venezuela and Damascus-Syria, she travelled to Ville de Puteaux-France, to design on a free atelier. Her works had been presented in several cultural institutions in Venezuela, such as the Library of the Central University of Venezuela, the Metropolitan University, the Plastic Artists Association of Venezuela, the Cruz Diez Museum, the Santa Lucia Museum, among others around the country; Moreover, in the United States, at 5th and 6th Annual Art in The Garden, in Spring ’05-’06, the celebration of “Francisco de Miranda” at the Library of Congress in 2006, and at the Consulate of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in New York city. She had receive special and Honorable mentions, from the Popular Atellier of Arts in Damasco and the Central University of Venezuela, where she received the first and the second place for 3 years in a row for her photography works. Her work can be defined as a neat representation of situations, objects, and people that she wants to endure in time.
